About Arkins Dasco Design
Thoughtful design, rooted in how you live.
Arkins Dasco Design was founded by Elizabeth Arkins with the belief that a home should feel personal, collected, and built to last. Our approach begins with a timeless and classic foundation—thoughtful architecture, beautiful materials, and well-proportioned spaces—and builds from there with layers of color, texture, pattern, art, and pieces that make a home feel uniquely yours.
We don't believe a home needs to be overly designed to be beautiful. The spaces we love most feel as though they have evolved over time: considered, comfortable, and full of things that tell a story.
Design with a strong technical foundation.
Elizabeth's approach to design comes from years of working not only on the aesthetic side of interiors, but also in the technical details that make a renovation successful.
With extensive on-site experience, she understands what happens after the drawings are finished. She has worked directly with contractors and trades, coordinated details in the field, and developed drawing sets for interior renovations. From cabinetry elevations and millwork details to lighting plans, finish layouts, and the many decisions that happen during construction, she believes good design has to work in the real world.
That technical perspective is an important part of the process. It allows us to look beyond how a room will photograph and think through how it will actually function, how it will be built, and how all of the individual details will come together.
Classic foundations. Collected layers.
Our design philosophy is simple: start with the bones and get the details right.
We gravitate toward classic architecture, natural materials, and pieces with staying power. From there, we layer in the things that make a house feel like home—vintage finds, artwork, collected objects, pattern, color, and pieces that don't necessarily match perfectly but somehow belong together.
The result is intentionally timeless, but never predictable. Refined, but never too precious. Designed, but still comfortable enough to live in.
A collaborative process.
Every home is different, and so is every client. We take the time to understand how you live, what matters to you, and where you need the most help. Some clients come to us with a clear vision and need help bringing it all together. Others are starting with a blank slate and want guidance through every decision.
Our role is to make that process feel more manageable—and more enjoyable. We bring the creative vision, technical knowledge, and experience to guide a project from the early ideas through the details and, ultimately, into a home that feels like your own.
Because the best spaces aren't just beautiful. They make sense for the people who live in them.
